Parkinson’s disease can be hereditary, but it is not likely. Researchers believe Parkinson’s disease is caused by certain genes have an increased risk of developing Parkinson’s. The interaction between these genes, other genes and environmental factors can result in being diagnosed with this condition. Researchers believe the only way Parkinson’s could be hereditary is if a person’s parents had onset of the disease in their 40’s or younger.
